No work, no pay

Conversation at dinner.

My 7 year old daughter says, "Oh no! I forgot to do my chores today!" You know, I am just not getting the hang of this chore thing. Maybe we should just forget about it, Mom."

Me, "Yeah, that's fine if you are okay with not getting any allowance."

Her, "What about you just paying me for the days I did them?"

Me, "Well, I already give you 2 days off and I really count on you to do those things as a contribution to our family."

Her, "Sometimes you forget to do your chores, like the laundry."


They just say the darnedest things, don't they?
