When I graduated in 1988, we were State 5A Football Champs. Honestly, I do not even know how many state championships and titles my high school has actually won, but it has been many. We are legends in the great state of Missouri as far as high school football goes.
The photos above are of the new field going in right now.
A few years ago, Melissa Etheridge used my high school as the backdrop for her video of the song Breathe. I thought I would share it with you. Of course, this will not evoke the same sentimental feelings it does for me, but it is still pretty cool to watch.

I loved high school football, of course one reason I cheered (or danced I was on a drill team) and there is nothing like marching out onto the football field with the lights shining on you and you hear the start of the music and then the moment you have waited for your time to perform...
How cool to have your high school as a backdrop for a video!
Happy WW!
Very cool!!! I too loved hs football, and marched onto a field at half time as a majorette... football in the south is huge!
Jefferson City Jays have won 10 State Titles, the most in Missouri history. Back in the early 1990's, they had some 70 straight wins with a Top 5 National Ranking. The old Jeff City teams Coached by Pete Adkins is still the ruler all teams measure themselves. Great, great tradition.
Thank you Anonymous! Who are you? :)
How do you know so much about my dear high school??!!?
I was going to ask where in Missouri you were from! Anonymous answered it for me! :) DH and I are hoping to retire to "THE LAKE" sometime in the future. We are looking at property once we get this debt paid down! I am so glad you had such a blast at your reunion! I have my 25 next year. AHHHH! Got to lose 20 pounds!!
It would be great if the Jays could add another Championship to the count this year. They are currently two games away from that goal. The Jays play Blue Springs South in the State semifinals tomorrow night in Blue Springs.
