Conversation at lunch yesterday with Bubby.
"Mom, I'm a big boy."
"Oh yeah, why is that?"
"I get to eat with the shiny spoons now!"
Okay, excuse me while I run away and cry here! My sweet baby boy is about to turn 5!!!! I even registered him for Kindergarten a couple weeks ago. Can you believe it? Yeah, me neither.
Gone are the toddler eating utensils. Now he uses the same ones as the rest of the family and I'm not even sure I noticed the transition as I cleaned out the silverware drawer.

Say it ain't so! It goes too fast! I can't remember the last time Libby ate with a plastic spoon..and she's not even 3 yet! Savor the moment. I can't imagine how fast the "kiddo years" will go by. :(
Shiny spoons. How cute is that? Phrases like those out of the mouths of my own kids are precisely the reason I love blogging. It gives me the chance to document the cutsie things they say and do without having to put together a complicated scrapbook page.
That's sweet. My little one still uses the toddler utensils but has moved up to the "real" plates at dinner.
Oh, that is so sweet, for our daughter is was a "real" glass at dinner time instead of a tupperware one! They feel so big!
waaaaaa! That is one of those bitter sweet moments most of us miss. I love your son's recognition of this.
