Mornings
I'm having one of those mornings.
The one where I-wonder-how-on-earth-I'm-going-to-handle-3-kids-because-I-can't-even-handle-the-two-I-have" kind of morning!
I even bemoaned this to my friend who has 4 kids. Of course moms with 4 are always so understanding and sweet. Understanding, sweet and probably reminiscing at how easy it was with only 2. Thank you for not laughing at me. :)
It's not any fault of my children. They are awesome - both up on time and in great moods. Dressed and at the table ready for a breakfast that I have not prepared yet.
It's me - tired, lazy mom that I am. I woke up late and you know how a morning goes when that happens.
As a matter of fact, my daughter came in to greet me this morning with the most sing-songy voice to alert me to the fact that my alarm went off 15 minutes ago. ugh. She proceeded to tell me how her own alarm actually went off 30 minutes before mine and she just sat up in bed watching the sun rise while reading a great book and then declared, "What an amazing day this is going to be!"
With my pillow over my head and a loud groan that the sun is shining right in my eyes, I wonder...
Where did this child come from? How can mother and daughter be so opposite when it comes to mornings?
Now that I've had my coffee, though - I have to admit - the day is looking quite amazing.

I had those exact same sentiments the other day! But mine weren't acting so nicely!
Oh we are kindred spirits when it comes to mornings. My husband has to prod me up most days, coffee in his hand, waving under my nose.
Twice this week I was the reason Nick was late to school. He was ready, I was the slug.
I've made a new vow.............to help him be on time.....um, maybe I need Kevin to nudge me a little earlier!
You always make me smile :)
I had one of those mornings Tuesday. the kind where you dissolve in tears after you get everyone where they need to go but not in the loving and kind way you should have. sigh
just started Lysa TerKeurst book "am I messing up my kids?" love it!!
Thanks ladies - you make me feel so much better! I hope they remember the days I am a happy mom and not a pregnant cranky one.
I had a hard time rolling out of bed this morning too. Fortunately for me, I had the promise of a new haircut to give me motivation. Now I am freshly cut and trying to work up the energy to get off this chair and clean up the house.
Thankfully the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. At least we can all be happy for that! :)
Either you are a morning person or you're not. Today when I was making my next appt. for hand therapy/Dr., the receptionist was apologizing because the only time slot she had for both was 8 AM. When she asked if that was okay, I jokingly said, "It's not my CHOICE, but I'll take it. I'm just not a morning person." She totally agreed w/me & I knew I'd found a kindred spirit!
