What Kind of Friend Are You?

What Kind of Friend are you?

If someone asked 3 of your best friends what would they say?

Kind, giving, generous, funny, their rock.

Or would it be more like this...
doesn't return my calls, no time for me, downer, needy.
Oh, I know that's not any of you - I can tell my blog readers are most likely great friends in real life.

Would do you hope they say?

What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind as a friend?
The epitaph would read something like this:

Dedicated Mother.
Loving Wife
______Friend

What would you want it to say?

So, this is part of a talk that I am giving on friendship in the morning to a MOPS group. Actually it's the end of about 20 minutes on how friendship adds so much to our lives. That's where I've been. I only have so much creative juice and it's all gone into writing that. Plus, the weather is absolutely amazing here. Any free time has been spent outside enjoying it with my sweet kiddos.

I'll be back this week - hope all is well in your worlds.

So, what kind of friend would you like to be remembered as?

Me?

I hope that I make my friends feel worthy and encouraged. So, Encouraging. That would be my word.

Loyal and dependable. A good listener but also fun to talk to. Someone that can brighten the day through some funny stories and laughing at life in general.

Janel,
I would describe you as REAL. What you see is what you get! You are loyal to your friends, honest and true. I hold you very close as a dear, dear friend.

Love to you my Sista!

Kim

Janel, that was a very nice post. My friends see me a bit different than I am because I do for others way more than I do for me...they think I am some kind of wonderful...I have heard their words often and I think to myself...wow, if only!

Janel, I think encouraging is a wonderful quality in a friend.

I think I would want mine to be supportive, or dependable. I'm not sure one word will suffice on this one.

I'm not sure if this is the word most people would use, so I guess that gives me opportunity for growth.

Great post. I think I'd want to be remembered as a thoughtful, fun and honest friend. I hope my friends think that of me.

I'm sure your talk was great! I wish I could have heard it! I would say for me, I would want to be known as encouraging, honest, and discerning. My best friendships are ones where we are each honest, and can pinpoint areas in our life where the other may not see it. Not sure if I'm making sense... Anyway, I hope it went well!

A very good reminder.....

I value friends who can love even when you disagree, and I hope that I am that way to others!

What I'd like for my friends to say and what they would actually say are likely two different things. Good reminder to try and be more not just for my kiddos and hubby but for my often times neglected friends too. :)

I hate that I had to miss your talk last week! I was on vacation, so at least it was a good reason. :) I heard that it was excellent! Thanks for taking the time to do it!

I would like to be remembered as loyal and dependable. Whether or not that's how people see me, I'm not sure.

Great post!
