Seemed Like a Good Idea

Bubby is suddenly very into skateboarding.

But only if he can have a ramp.

My advice to him was to go ahead and learn how to actually stay on the skateboard and maybe learn some tricks on the actual ground before he attempts flying off of a ramp.

So, this (photo below) is what I found after giving him all this advice.  Seems my van is the perfect place to set up a ramp. Except what happens when you get to the top?

Um, yeah...

My Kids Have Discovered Ebay

It took those silly bands to make it happen but yesterday after school, my daughter was on the computer and Ebay before she could put her backpack down. She was very very excited as she talked so fast I could barely keep up told me that she could get silly bands for 1 cent on Ebay!!!

I did burst her bubble a little bit when I informed her that she would also have to pay shipping.

So, after much talk about what she could and could not bid on, her and my son sat down to bid on their favorite bands.  Monkeys! Fantasy! Tie dye!

I think the funniest part of it all was when they won an auction.  "We won, Mom!!!  We won!!!"
As if it we just won the lottery!

They were so excited they didn't even seem disappointed when I reminded them to shell out the $1.99 in shipping + 1 cent for the bands from their piggy banks.

Good thing they don't know how to log in.  I might be getting all kinds of fun things in the mail all for the sake of winning!

I Have Three Kids

I have three kids.

It's both odd and completely natural to say that.

Unexpected Blessings

To say that I was surprised when I found out that I was pregnant would be an understatement.  Really, I don't know why I was taken back.  It's not like we were really doing anything to prevent getting pregnant.  I guess I just thought that if it didn't happen in 5 1/2 years then it most likely was not going to happen at all.  I become settled with our family of four.

For many reasons, I do not want to share my deepest feelings of those first few weeks after finding out I was pregnant.  At least not on my blog.  I was surprised - yes, we've already established that.   Fearful, absolutely.   Maybe even a little depressed at the thought of how my almost 40 year old body would go through such major changes again.

I did wonder how we would do it all.   How would we be as parents to three kids?  Financially,  I worried. The year prior had been brutal for our business and I definitely wondered about how we would survive the next.

But we have survived.  And grown.   In more ways than one.

So, now we have this little baby boy. This sweet and precious baby boy who, every time I look at him , reminds me of my most amazing God.

This God of mine who knows me better than I know myself.  My Father, the one who knows my heart.  The one who knew how blessed we'd be by this third child.

I hope that as this baby grows, I continue to look at him and realize that my Father in heaven always knows what's best for me.  I hope to trust him even when something is not my plan, to have faith even when I'm unsure and to be patient enough to sit back and wait for the unexpected blessing.

Ten Things I Love About My Newborn Baby

As if I can only pick 10 things!!!  Newborns are truly just sweet little gifts - simple and pure.

I really did forget some of the most special things about these little bitty humans.   I think my most favorite thing about having a third child is that I am not freaking out so much about what to do with a baby and just enjoying having a baby.   I take time to stare at him, touch his skin more and just enjoy being with him.  My house is a mess, his room still needs work and many other things are left undone and it's perfectly okay.  I have a  new baby to love on and as a mother of three now, I know one thing for sure - the newborn stage goes by way too fast.

These are not in any particular order, just some favorites.

  1. The spontaneous jerk of his little hands or feet.
  2. The little squeaks and sighs he makes as he eats or when I pick him up.
  3. His smell.
  4. His feet.
  5. The way he snuggles his little head into my neck.
  6. The way he roots around when he is hungry.
  7. His soft skin - could anything be softer?
  8. His soft dark hair.
  9. His hands.
  10. The way he tries so hard to open his eyes and take in his new world.

Like I said, I could go on and on.  I think it's safe to say, I'm in love with the little guy.

What is also pretty cool is that as I love on this baby, I am reminded of little things that were special with my other two when they were newborns.

Welcome Sweet Baby Boy!

Sorry, I've been so absent - We've been a little busy around here!

Welcome to our little baby boy!  We'll just call him Baby T.  He weighed in at 9 lbs. 2 oz.  and is about the sweetest little guy ever!  I actually went in on Friday to be induced because I was so miserably swollen and uncomfortable.  Thank goodness I did or he might have been over 10 pounds.

The last few days have been filled with many friends and family visits.  Lots less sleep and getting adjusted to having a baby in the house again.

They've also been filled with sweet tender moments between Baby T and his big brother and sis.  They love him sooo much.

Anyway, here are some pictures of our new little man!

My little chunk of love!

He sleeps a lot.  Very happy and content.

So sleepy!
