Happy Birthday my little man!

August 2003 Journal Entry:

I found out I am pregnant with you! I just could not wait to tell your dad because I know that you are a boy. I knew the instant I read the test.

We told your big sis and also to keep it a secret. So far, she has told everyone she can, "My mommy has a baby in her tummy." She is excited to say the least.

September 2003: I heard your little heartbeat for the first time and it is so strong! It is so real and exciting now!

October 2003: We had our first ultrasound today and YOU ARE A BOY! I just knew it.

April 2008: My little man.

I really did know the instant I found out I was pregnant that you were a boy.

I was so excited to have a little boy. I was thrilled to be able to dress someone in khakis and little bitty polo shirts. Although, as it turns out you are much more inclined to want to wear camouflage and t-shirts. And sneakers. Always sneakers tied very tight.

You are a picky one with your clothes. Since the day you could pick them out, you had a very clear idea of what clothing would go on your body and what would not.

Never a sweater or sweater vest. Rarely a jacket. Seldom a dress shoe. Boy to the core.

You are funny.

You are active.

You are every single thing a boy is said to be.

I love that you really do think you can grow up to be a superhero one day and think that you will find something along those lines anyway. You do enjoy being helpful.

I love the way you adore dogs so much. You have always wanted to run up to them and hug their whole body. You just don't have any fear of them.

I love that you love me so much.

I love that you pray for your little buddies at night and always want to say the prayer at dinner time.

Happy Birthday big guy! It is an absolute joy being your mom.
