Taken just this past weekend, this photo says a lot about my son.  Sweet as he can be, shy, cheeks red from running around and playing, smiling, beautiful.     The perfect picture worth a thousand words.

Flowers Make Me Happy

I just realized that I haven't shown many photos of my garden this year. We have had so much rain and then extreme heat that it's been a weird year for my for my plants. I've enjoyed the garden in my back yard so much. The front? Not so much. The early spring brought amazing blooms but the summer has been hard on it since then. I just don't know if it's the soil or the way the sun hits the yard or the stars being aligned just so - whatever, it's a bit frustrating.

Usually, my container plants are rocking by this time, too but this year they have been very sickly looking. Like I said, weird year for my plants.

Anyway, these are a few of what is working - let's keep our focus there, eh?

Catchin' A Wave - A Thousand Words Thursday

I used to participate in Jen's A Thousand Words Thursday a lot. Then I kinda dropped off with my regular blogging. I love Jen's blog, though and have missed it. I started to follow her on Facebook and of course got hooked again.

This is my Bubby at the beach recently. I love the picture because he is having so much fun just trying to catch a wave with his little boogie board. The bigger story behind this is that he was terrified of the ocean last year and he is so excited to let these waves knock him down this year. I cannot keep the kid out of water this year and that is just fine by me!

Sweet Christmas Past

One of my all-time favorite pictures of my kids at Christmas time - taken in 2004. It was Bubby's first Christmas and B just could not keep her little 4 year old hands off of him.
He ate it up and still does.

Halloween Past

This was 2 years ago. Some things stay the same - L will be another superhero this year. B will always "model" for photos.

Some things change - my little people are getting big. 5 and 2 here. It seems like yesterday.
