Color My Walls

Look what I got yesterday!

New carpet in my family room and stairs!  Yippee!!!  I have been waiting for carpet for awhile now. We DESPERATELY needed to replace our 10 year old, 2 kids, 2 dogs, builder grade carpet.  I will admit that I was embarrassed by it.  A year ago we started the process of getting new carpet and then the economy tanked so we put the brakes on large purchases.   But my hubby knows a guy who knows a guy and we got a very good deal just in time for family at Thanksgiving.

Now I need to paint, though.  The paint just looks old and my kitchen and family room are two different colors.   I just think that making them all one color will make the space look bigger.  So, I'm on a mission to find the perfect color now.  Got a favorite?   Besides Tobacco Road.  It doesn't look right in the rooms - already tried.    The family room is green and the kitchen is yellow, by the way - very warm and cozy.   I'd like to stay warm but lighter.   Okay, so tell me your favorite.

Oh and here is a little I Love Lucy episode where she is trying to hide some new furniture she bought from Ricky.  So funny!

I love Silver Sage - It's a Restoration Hardware color but I got it matched -

It can look blue, green or gray depending on the time of day/amount of sunlight - very versatile.

And I'm jealous of your new carpet. Mine is a thorn in the flesh....

You're new carpet looks great! Sorry I can't help with a paint color. We just put Tobacco Road pretty much throughout our house. I couldn't be happier with it. Good luck finding the perfect color!

Love the new carpet! I have a light yellow on our walls donwstairs... I can't remember the name of it but can look it up for you if you are interested. We have the color throughout our kitchen and den and I was just thinking about trying to find a color to paint the den to mix it up. I will have to rethink it if you think having the same color makes the space look bigger.

Don't forget about the fifth wall, the ceiling! Adding color to the ceiling can do amazing things to the room. You could even keep your yellow and green scheme and just do one on the walls and a complimentary one on your ceiling. Love those two colors! Good luck!

Also, for those shopping for carpet, in our old house, we found a fabulous frizze (sp) made from recycled soda bottles. It has an incredible durability and great warranty and is about 1/2 the cost of the regular frizze. I don't know the real name, but if you ask for the pop bottle carpet, they should know what you mean.

I have Benjamin Moore's Corinthian white (which is a very pale yellow). Also love their Hawthorne. If you want to see some of their paint chips I have a whole bunch - just stop by!

Love the new carpet! I can't wait to get some.
